CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City police arrested a suspect on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly fired a gun at police officers early Wednesday, officials said.

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle parked with its rear passenger side door partially open in front of a closed business about 1:25 a.m. in the 8500 block of National Boulevard, authorities said.

As they drove closer to approach the car, a suspect fired one shot in the direction of the officers, police said. He then fled on foot and was taken into custody without incident after a short foot pursuit. A loaded handgun was recovered at the scene. No injuries were reported.
