Culver City Police Ask For Help Finding Robbery Suspect

Police are looking for a strong-arm robbery suspect who allegedly pulled up in a car next to a victim and stole his phone.

CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City police are asking the public's help to find a strong-arm robbery suspect who reportedly pulled up in a car next to an elderly man who was walking and stole his iPhone Monday.

The reported robbery happened at Slauson Avenue and Segrell Way about 1:55 p.m. when the victim heard the suspect cursing at him for unknown reasons, police said in a news release.

"Officers met with the elderly victim who stated he was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect pulled her vehicle alongside of him and began to curse at him for unknown reasons," police said. "The suspect then exited her vehicle, approached the victim and forcibly grabbed the victim’s cell phone. The victim attempted to maintain possession of his phone while backing away, a struggle ensued, and the suspect was able to pull the phone away from the victim."

The suspect then entered the vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction.

Police described the suspect as a Black woman age 50 to 55 years old, approximately 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 7 inches with short, dark hair, thin build and a dark complexion. She was wearing a black shirt and black pants. She was driving a 4-door vehicle. No further information was provided.
