Culver City Police Blotter: When Good Fences Don’t Make Good Neighbors
A woman reported a man offered her an estimate to fix her fence but then later stole her property from her home while she was out.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between April 30 and May 6 as reported to the Culver City Police Department.
Car Burglary
On April 30 at 5:05 p.m. a victim called the police department to report her 2008 Lexus had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 8600 block of Washington Blvd. at 9:30 a.m. When she returned at 5 p.m. she discovered the driver’s side passenger window had been broken out and her property missing.

Forgery
On May 1 at 2:30 p.m. a victim called the police department to report she was a victim of forgery. The victim said she was reviewing her bank statement and noticed her account was overdrawn. She went to the bank and discovered two of her checks had been altered and cashed by an unknown person.

Grand Theft
On May 2 at 3 p.m. a victim came to the police department to report she was a victim of grand theft. The victim said a subject in the 4100 block of Elenda St. approached her on May 1 at 3 p.m. The subject told her he was fixing a neighbor’s fence and would she like an estimate to repair her fence. The victim showed the subject her fence and left her home. At 9 p.m. she discovered her property was missing from her home.
Theft
On May 4 at 7:15 p.m. officers responded to the 5600 block of Sepulveda Blvd. regarding a theft investigation. The officers met with the reporting party who told them he was working when he saw a male Black, 5”10, 160-170 lbs, wearing a white shirt and black jeans running toward the exit. The suspect had removed a tablet from the display case and fled the location.
Robbery
On May 5 at 2:55 p.m. officers responded to the 12600 block of Washington Blvd. regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them she was approached by the suspect who entered the location and produced a handgun and demanded the money. The victim fearing for her safety gave the suspect the cash and he fled the location. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, medium build, black hair, wearing a blue jacket and in his 20’s.
