Culver City Skate Park Could Close Temporarily Over Face Masks

Culver City threatens to close its skate park temporarily if people don't follow the health rules and guidelines.

CULVER CITY, CA — Some rules are meant to be followed—especially in a pandemic—and the Culver City skate park could close temporarily if people don't start abiding by the health and safety guidelines.

"Culver City staff are aware that skate park users are not wearing the required face coverings and protective gear. If violations continue, the skate park will be closed," officials said.

Everyone must wear a face mask and safety gear at the skate park located at 9910 Jefferson Blvd, Culver City.

"Last month, Parks, Recreation, and Community Services staff told Skate Park users and the public know that the Skate Park is subject to closure at any time if patrons do not follow the posted Rules and Regulations and all COVID-19 precautions," officials said.

"To stress the importance of this policy, PRCS staff posted three new signs at the Skate Park to remind everyone that face coverings and safety gear (i.e., helmet, elbow and knee pads) are mandatory and noncompliance will result in the closure of the Skate Park," city officials said.
