Culver City Whole Foods Market To Open In August
The store will feature a wide assortment of locally sourced food, produce and health products, officials said.

CULVER CITY, CA — Whole Foods Market is opening a new market in August on La Cienega Boulevard in Culver City — with a hand-selected array of locally sourced produce, cheese, meats, seafood, desserts, beer and wine.
On opening day, Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., the first 300 patrons will receive tote bags filled with samples. And shoppers also can score free samples from such local suppliers as Corsa, Keto Krisp, Lumen Wellness Shots, Asha Pops and Chicas Tortilla Chips.
Products offered for sale will include an assortment of more than 1,700 items from Southern California, curated by a Whole Foods "local forager" employee, company officials said.

Among planned offerings with a SoCal or Central Coast connection:
- Produce from more than 40 local farms, including tomatoes from Be Wise Ranch, sprouts from Kowalke Organics and watermelon from Valpredo Farms;
- Such cheese and artisan meats as goat gouda from Central Coast Creamery, small-batch artisanal meats from Gusto and burrata from Di Stefano Cheese;
- Seafood section featuring black mussels from Carlsbad Aquafarm, sablefish from Giovanni’s Fish Market and squid from Southwind Seafood;
- Full-service meat counter, with such options as beef from Eel River, chicken from Mary’s Free Range Chickens, turkey from Diestel Ranch and sausages from Tarantino Gourmet Sausage;
- Beer, wine and spirit selections with such community ties as Fresh Pils of LA from Common Space Brewery, wine from DAOU Vineyards, Turning Tide Wines, Ancient Peaks Winery and Field Recordings Winery, plus a Belgian coffee ale collaboration from Brouwerji West and Groundwork Coffee.
An on-site taproom, The Cul Bar, will offer 24 beers on tap, with some local varieties, along with indoor and outdoor seating, happy hour and daily specials.

Bakery offerings will include scratch-made bread, such favorites as Whole Foods' Berry Chantilly Cake, vegan and gluten-free items and treats from local businesses, The Pie Hole, Rocq Macarons and Röckenwagner Bakery.
The store's Whole Body section will feature more than 100 local products, including wellness shots from Shroomi, vegan soap from Forest Nymphs and candles from PF Candle Co., the company said.
The 51,413-square-foot store, at 3377 La Cienega Blvd., also will feature artwork of the Baldwin Hills Overlook and a bird’s eye-view painting of Culver City.
Regular daily hours will be 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Before its opening, the retailer donated toward fencing and irrigation systems at the Good Earth Community Garden, and will be partnering with Communities in School for nutritious after-school snacks for children, along with supporting events for Black Women for Wellness and Shower of Hope’s at the West Adams Church of Christ, Whole Foods officials said.
