Farewell, Culver City Patch!
After a year-and-a-half as the editor of Culver City Patch, I am passing the baton to a fabulous journalist named Kelly Hartog. Please give her a warm welcome.
Some of you may have heard by now, but I am leaving Culver City Patchland. Thank you for all of the happy memories, festivals, loyal readership and lively commentary on the site. Most of all, thank you for giving me such a warm welcome into your community.
In an effort to offer some words of comfort, I would like to introduce you to Kelly Hartog, the new Culver City Patch editor. Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, History and Media Studies at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia before moving to Jerusalem where she spent 10 years as a reporter and editor for The Jerusalem Post for both the daily paper, the local weekend section and as the radio news director. She covered local politics, arts, entertainment and wrote a weekly op-ed column on the city. She spent 2000-2004 covering the height of the Palestinian Intifada. After surviving an Al Qaeda suicide bombing attack on Nov. 28, 2002, while on assignment for The Jerusalem Post in Mombasa, Kenya, Kelly moved to Los Angeles in 2004. She is transitioning from the world of Mar Vista Patch to Culver City, where I am sure she will take the site to new heights. Be sure to email her at kelly.hartog@patch.com with all of your news tips, insider news and commentary. I am sure she will love to receive it.
And in addition to her myriad of professional accomplishments, she has a wonderful puppy named Bronte that I am sure you will see jaunting around Culver City's favorite dog haunts.
