Man Who Slammed Truck Into Cop Cars Arrested In Culver City After Chase: Report

A man driving a stolen truck was arrested in Culver City after a pursuit Thursday morning, according to reports.

CULVER CITY, CA — A man was arrested Thursday morning in Culver City after he led police on a brief chase in a pickup truck believed to be stolen, according to reports.

The incident involved the man slamming the Ram truck into two Los Angeles Police Department vehicles, leading police to pursue him for assault on a police officer in addition to driving the stolen truck. The chase began before 11 a.m., KTLA reported.

The man drove on the westbound 10 Freeway before exiting onto surface streets in Culver City, KCAL reported.

At a cul-de-sac on Cattaraugus Avenue near Jacob Street, police appeared to have cornered the man. But he drove the truck on the sidewalk, hit a parked car and continued over a lawn to get away, KCAL reported.

He continued driving along Washington Boulevard — on the wrong side of the road at times — and other Culver City streets before coming to a stop near Lucerne Avenue and Higuera Street, KCAL reported.

The man found himself on another dead end: He exited the truck and surrendered to police, KTLA reported.
