New Beer Celebrates 2024 Launch Of CicLAvia's 'Miles Of Smiles'
A new LA Ale Works beer celebrates CicLAvia's 2024 season — and teaches people how to pronounce the organization's name.
CULVER CITY, CA — LA Ale Works on Friday will celebrate the release of its latest beer, a collaboration with CicLAvia to kick off the organization's 2024 events.
The beer — called seek-la-VEE-ah, a phonetic spelling of the sometimes-hard-to-pronounce CicLAvia — is a 6.5-percent ABV West Coast IPA, according to the brewery.
The beer "is all about the 'miles of smiles' that Los Angeles’ extremely popular open streets events create. What better way to cap off a day of roaming the streets of our cherished communities than with a beer?," LA Ale Works wrote in a statement.

Friday's celebration will take place at Ivy Station during the monthly Night Market from 5 to 10 p.m. Food, music, perch, vendors and entertainment will be on tap, including balloon art from the Ballusionist.
seek-la-VEE-ah is now available on draft and in four-packs at the brewery's Culver City and Hawthorne locations.

A portion of sales from the beer will be donated to CicLAvia, according to LA Ale Works.
Since 2010, CicLAvia events have seen stretches of Los Angeles streets closed to cars for one day, when pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to take over spaces usually dominated by motorists.
The 2024 season kicks off Feb. 25 with a route on Melrose Avenue between Fairfax and Vermont avenues. Other routes this year include ones in Venice, South LA, Hollywood, Lincoln Heights and the San Fernando Valley.
