Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Culver City

A pedestrian died Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Culver City, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A man died Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on National Boulevard, according to police.

Police responded to National Boulevard and Wesley Street just before 4:30 p.m. in response to the crash. Paramedics rendered aid to the pedestrian and transported him to a local hospital, where he died from the injuries he sustained in the collision, the Culver City Police Department said.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The initial investigation revealed the driver was traveling on National Boulevard when he or she struck the pedestrian in the roadway. Though the investigation is ongoing, investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, police said.

The investigation led to the closure of National Boulevard between Wesley Street and Eastham Drive.
