Police Blotter: A Bike Robbery and Grand Theft Auto
Our weekly crime roundup includes a case of grand theft auto and two bike owners who were forced to give up their set of wheels.

A business burglary
Officers went to the 13000 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation on Feb. 7 at 7:40 a.m. The officers met with the victim, who told them that his business was locked on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. and when he returned later that evening, he discovered that someone broke a window, entered the location and stole property.

Broken car window, stolen property
On Feb. 8 at 8:15 a.m., a victim of a car burglary called the police department. She said she parked and locked her 2008 Toyota in the 9300 block of Lucerne Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7; when she returned the next morning, she discovered her front passenger window was broken and that some of her property was missing.

A bike robbery
Officers went to the 5700 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation on Feb. 8 at 7:45 p.m. The officers met with two victims, who said they were riding their bicycles when they noticed a green van following them. The van passed them, stopped and two male suspects got out of the van.
Someone then pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded their bicycles. The victims, fearing for their safety, gave them the bikes. The suspects then fled the area.
Grand theft auto
On Feb. 10 at 4:55 p.m., officers went to the 11200 block of Culver Boulevard regarding a grand theft auto investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he parked and locked his 2004 Chevy on Feb. 9 at 10 p.m.; when he returned the next morning, he discovered his vehicle was missing.
A vacation break-in
On Feb. 13 at 8:15 p.m., officers went to the 10800 block of Stever Street regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he left his residence on Feb. 11 for a weekend trip and when he returned on Feb. 13, discovered his home had been burglarized.
Someone entered the location by prying open a door and removed personal items from his home.
