Police Blotter: Arguments and Stolen Cars

This week's crime roundup includes a couple of disagreements that ended poorly and Fords that weren't where the owners left them.

Fords no more

On June 7 at 9:40 a.m., officers went to the 5800 block of Uplander Way regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he parked and locked his 2001 Ford van on June 3. He returned to the location later that day and realized that his van was missing.

On June 10 at 9:30 a.m., officers went to the 5800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he parked his 1999 Ford truck with the engine running. He returned in 10 minutes and discovered his truck was missing.

Cellphone drama

On June 9 at 9:35 p.m., officers went to the 3900 block of Huron Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he and a friend had gotten in a verbal argument over a cellphone. The argument escalated and the friend struck the victim several times. He then fled the location.

A workout that didn't work out

On June 11 at 3:15 p.m., officers went to the 3800 block of Overland Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he had gone to the fitness center and stored his personal items in a locker there at 12:45 p.m. He returned at 2:15 p.m. and discovered his locker was open and his property missing.

A possible enemy?

On June 11 at 3:25 p.m., officers went to the 13400 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a vandalism investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that he parked and locked his 2010 Ford Escape at 3 p.m. He returned to his vehicle at 3:15 p.m. and discovered that someone had put a 5-inch gouge in the driver’s side door.

Bottle as a weapon

On June 12 at 10 p.m., officers went to the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Green Valley Circle regarding an assault investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that she had gotten into a verbal argument over a personal issue with the suspect. The suspect then hit the victim with a bottle and fled the location.
