Police Blotter: Assault and a Garage Break-In

This week's crime roundup features a motorcycle accident that turned into a heated interaction.

Missing inventory

On Sept. 20 at 8:30 a.m., officers went to the 4100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the reporting party, who told them that the business was locked and secured on Sept. 19 at 8:15 p.m. and she returned at 8:35 a.m. the next morning. She saw that the office doors had been forced open. She then discovered that part of her inventory was missing.

Motorcycle madness

On Sept. 21 at 7:20 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report that he was a victim of an assault. The victim said he was riding his motorcycle near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Hughes Avenue and was cut off by another driver, almost causing him to crash. He and the other driver exchanged a few words and both of them pulled to the curb. The suspect then approached the victim and  struck him.

Grand theft auto

On Sept. 23 at 2 p.m., officers went to the 6600 block of Green Valley Circle regarding a stolen car investigation. The officers met with the reporting party, who told them his brother had left his car with him and it was parked and locked on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. On Sept. 23, he noticed the car was missing and no one had permission to take it. The car was a 1995 white Acura.

Missing property

On Sept. 23 at 2:05 p.m., a victim came to the police department to report her 2009 Toyota was burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 9800 block of Jefferson Boulevard at 1:30 p.m. When she returned at 1:50 p.m., she discovered her car’s front passenger window was smashed out and her property missing.

A garage break-in

On Sept. 24 at 8:30 a.m., officers went to the 11500 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them that e placed some of his property in his garage and locked it on Sept. 23 at 10 p.m. He returned the next day at 8 a.m. and discovered the padlock on the garage door was missing. He looked in the garage and discovered his property missing.
