Police Blotter: Burglaries and More Burglaries

In this week's crime roundup, burglaries are the trend du jour.

Keep on reading for a recap of crimes as told to the Culver City Police Department:

A couple of car burglaries

On April 26 at 5 p.m., a victim called the department to report his 2009 Dodge Charger had been burglarized. The victim said he parked and locked his vehicle at 7 p.m. on April 25  in the 3800 block of Cardiff Avenue. When he returned at 8 p.m., he discovered his vehicle had been broken into.

On April 27 at 4:30 p.m., a victim came to the station to report her 2001 Toyota had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her vehicle in the 9800 block of Jefferson Boulevard at 2 p.m. and when she returned at 4:15 p.m. discovered her driver side window had been shattered and her property missing.

On April 28 at 8:25 a.m., officers went to the 3500 block of Helms Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he was approached someone regarding a civil dispute and during the course of the conversation, the suspect hit the victim once.

A case of missing property

On April 28 at 1:30 p.m., officers went to the 3500 block of Hayden Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them that he locked and secured the business on April 22 at 5 p.m.; when he returned on April 28 he discovered the front doors were open. He checked the location and discovered some property was missing.

Forced entry

On April 29 at 3 p.m., officers went to the 5900 block of Wright Crest Drive regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with victim who told them that he locked and secured his residence at 9:50 a.m. When he returned at 2:30 p.m., he discovered a sliding glass door had been forced open. He then checked the residence and discovered his property missing.
