Police Blotter: Burglaries and Robberies

Our weekly crime roundup includes multiple foiled burglaries as we head into the holiday.

With the Thanksgiving turkeys thawing in the fridge, read up on the latest burglaries and robberies in Culver City, as reported to the Culver City Police Department. 

Something's missing

On Nov. 18, officers responded to a burglary call in the 11100 block of Orville Street. The officers met with the victim, who said that he had locked and secured his location at 10 a.m. When he returned at 3 p.m., he noticed some property missing. The victim checked the location and found that the rear door was open and someone had fled the location.

They tried to steal my car

On Nov. 18, a victim came to the police station to report a car burglary. The victim said she had parked and locked her 2002 Saturn on Nov. 16 and when she returned on Nov. 18 she discovered that someone had attempted to pry open the driver's door.

Give me all your money

On Nov. 18 at 3:50 p.m. officers responded to a robbery call in the 10800 block of Venice Boulevard. The victim told officers that two individuals had approached her and demanded money. The victim described one suspect as a Hispanic female about 35 years old with brown hair and black eyes. She said the second suspect was a male Hispanic about 35 years old with black hair. She described the suspects' vehicle as a late model black GMC Yukon.

They tried to break into my business

On Nov. 20 at 10:05 a.m. officers responded to a burglary call in the 5600 block of Corryne Place. Officers met with the victim, who told them that he had locked and secured his business Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. He said he returned the following morning at 5:15 a.m. and discovered that someone had pried off the doorknob to a rear door but were unable to make entry into the business.
