Police Blotter: Burglaries in the Holiday Season
Several burglaries and a case of vandalism were reported in the week leading up to Christmas.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26, as reported to the Culver City Police Department.
Commercial Burglary
On Dec. 20 at 9 a.m. a victim called the police department to report her purse had been stolen. The victim said she was at work in her office located in the 5400 block of Sepulveda Blvd. on Dec. 15. Sometime between 1 and 3 p.m. a female suspect entered her office and stole her purse from a desk in her front office. The suspect was described as a black female in her forties.

Street Robbery
On Dec. 21 at 8:30 a.m. officers responded to the 4600 block of Elenda St. regarding a robbery. The officers met with the victim who told them he was walking home on Overland Avenue around 5 p.m. when he was approached by a male suspect described as Latin, heavy set, 17-19 years of age and wearing dark clothing. The suspect grabbed him and went into his pockets and removed his property and then fled the location.

Car Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 12 a.m. a victim called the police department to report her car had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her 2002 BMW in the 13400 block of Washington Blvd. at 4:30 p.m. When she returned at 5:15 p.m. she discovered her property missing.
Residential Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 9 p.m. officers responded to the 4100 block of Lafayette Pl. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim said she left her residence locked and secured at 7:10 a.m. and when she returned at 8:45 p.m. discovered her bedroom window had been broken and her property missing.
Residential Burglary
On Dec. 22 at 6:45 p.m. officers responded to the 6400 block of Green Valley Circle regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the reporting parties who said they had gone to feed their neighbor’s unit to feed the cat while the owner was on vacation. They noticed the front door had been forced open and the unit had been ransacked.
Vandalism
On Dec. 23 at 6:15 p.m. a victim called the police department to report his home had been vandalized. The victim said he left his residence at 12:30 p.m. and returned at 4:30 p.m. and discovered his living room window had been smashed out.
