Police Blotter: Robberies and Fire Extinguishers
This week, a motorcycle was stolen and someone took out their frustrations on a parking structure.

A home invasion
Police responded to a 9:30 p.m. radio call Aug. 16 regarding a burglary on the 13300 block of Zanja Avenue. The officers' investigation revealed a property loss exceeding $5,000, and they obtained evidence that could help identify a suspect.

Officers received a call Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m. regarding an armed robbery on Culver Boulevard and Mentone Avenue. The victim was seated in her vehicle when she was approached by the suspect, who demanded all of her property. The suspect was described as a 5'9" black male in his 20s with a thin build, wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.
On Aug. 21 at 8:30 p.m., officers received a radio call about a strong-arm robbery that had occurred in the north alley of the 3300 block of Helms Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s, wearing a blue bandana around his face. He approached the victim and demanded his wallet. In fear for his safety, the victim handed over his wallet and the suspect then fled on foot.

Grand theft auto--not a game
On Aug. 18 at 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a radio call of grand theft auto on the 3800 block of Girard Avenue. Officers discovered the victim's motorcycle had been stolen from a residence. The value of the motorcycle was $1,000.
Mad about parking fees?
On Aug. 27 between 1:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., someone lifted up the exit gate arm at the Watseka Avenue parking structure, entered the unlocked attendant booth and sprayed the interior with a fire extinguisher. As a result, the parking gate arm was permanently damaged.
