Police Seize Nearly 82 lbs. Of Methamphetamine, Loaded Weapons

CULVER CITY, CA — Police found approximately 82 lbs. of Methamphetamine and loaded weapons during a traffic stop and search Tuesday in Culver City, officials said.

Officers were conducting a traffic stop near Slauson Avenue and Buckingham Parkway about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when they made the discovery, officials said.

"After contacting the two occupants, officers developed cause to search the vehicle," police said.

Officers found one loaded and illegally possessed assault rifle, two loaded handguns and approximately 21 lbs. of Methamphetamine.

The two people in the car were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance while armed. The suspects' names were not immediately released.

Police then obtained a search warrant to search the suspects' hotel room at the Hilton Los Angeles Culver City at 6161 W Centinela Ave., where they found an additional 61 lbs. of Methamphetamine.
