CULVER CITY, CA — For its first standalone retail experience in the U.S., Canadian furniture brand Sundays is offering its wares at a pop-up showroom at Platform LA over the next month.

Sundays might hail from the Great White North, but the brand paints itself as offering a "California Cool aesthetic" — with quality pieces featuring solid wood, plush sofas, rounded corners and a color palette of earthy, natural tones.

"We’ve been eyeing Los Angeles for a while now. Sundays is Canadian-born, but ever since we expanded shipping in the US, we saw significant growth in the LA market and a growing shopper base in California," co-founder Barbora Samieian told Patch in an email.

The showroom showcases new products that have never been displayed in person before, including the Quilt and Wind Down sofa collections and the Union and Showcase collections of furniture, according to the company.

Its best sellers will also be on display, including the Keep Stacking Collection, which was named Best Modular Piece by Domino's 2023 Good Design Awards.

"We knew we wanted an in-person presence in Los Angeles, but it was important for us to choose a location that placed Sundays alongside like minded brands. We love that Platform LA is centrally located in Culver City, making it an accessible destination for customers coming from many parts of town. All of Platform’s retailers are independent brands, like us, who cherish building authentic relationships with their customers. Platform brings community together: offering a hub for shopping, food, drink, people watching, outdoor play for kids, weekend events, and so much more," Samieian said.

Samieian will moderate a panel featuring interior designers Hema Persad, Natalie Myers and Merisa Libbey on April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the showroom.

The Culver City pop up opened earlier this month and will be open until April 28: Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Platform is located at 8850 Washington Blvd, Culver City. Read more here.
