Restaurant Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested, Police Say

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery at a Culver City restaurant, police say.

CULVER CITY, CA — A 23-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery at a Culver City restaurant, police said.

The armed robbery was reported about 2:10 p.m. March 29 at the Taste Kitchen, 3970 Sepulveda Blvd., according to Culver City Police Department.

The suspect walked inside the business, approached an employee at the register and demanded money, pointing to a handgun under his t-shirt, police said.

"In fear for his life, the employee handed the suspect the register money," police said. The amount of money inside the register was not released.

The suspect left the restaurant and ran away northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard, police said.

Detectives identified the suspect and on March 31 he was detained by a neighboring police agency, officials said.

He was taken to Culver City Jail. His name was not immediately released.
