Robertson and Sepulveda Boulevard Construction Projects Begin April 30

Two separate construction projects in Culver City will begin Mon. April 30 and continue through the end of May. The first is at Robertson Boulevard between Washington and Venice boulevards and the second is at Sepulveda Boulevard and Lindblade Street.

Two separate Culver City Public Works improvement projects will begin at 8 a.m. today – Mon. April 30, and will continue through the end of May.  Both projects will be undertaken between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and some work may occur on weekends.

The first project is a pedestrian/transit connection improvement project at Robertson Boulevard between Washington and Venice boulevards and consists of:

  • Removal of existing asphalt pavement and subgrade on the east portion of Robertson Boulevard and replacement with concrete cement to accommodate five bus parking areas.
  • Removal of existing sidewalk and replacement with new sidewalk that meets the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act; 
  • Removal of nine street trees and replacement of five of those trees with the same species trees, grates, and root barrier; 
  • Pedestrian lighting and related electrical conduit and equipment; 
  • Street tree up lighting and related electrical conduit and equipment.

The second project is the Sepulveda Boulevard/Lindblade Street crosswalk project.

According to a release by the City, this project may also cause temporary loss of street parking, a brief loss of driveway access to property, construction noise, dust, etc., but the City will do everything to minimize any inconvenience. The project consists of:

  • Removal of existing asphalt pavement and subgrade and replacement with new brick pavers on the northern, southern, and eastern legs of the intersection at Sepulveda Boulevard and Lindblade Street; 
  • Replacement of traffic loop detectors at the northern and eastern intersection approaches.
