WLAC Aviation Mechanics Team Takes First Place in Turbine Engine Event

It was the first year West Los Angeles College took part in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Society's Maintenance Skills Competition, which was held this year in Las Vegas.

The Aviation Mechanics team from West Los Angeles College took first place in the “Turbine Engine Event” at their very first appearance at the Aviation Maintenance Technician Society's Maintenance Skills Competition.

At the March event held in Las Vegas, the college also took fourth out of 11 teams in the School Category.

The AMT competition drew students and professionals from around the world including Australia, Canada, China and the United States who competed in five categories: Commercial Aviation, General Aviation, Schools, Maintenance Repair Overhaul/Original Equipment Manufacturer (MRO/OEM), and Military.
