Woman Beaten With Metal Pole After Declining Another Woman's Plea For Cash: CCPD

A Culver City woman was arrested on suspicion of beating another woman with a pole on Sepulveda Boulevard, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A woman who beat another woman with a metal pole after the victim declined to give her money was arrested recently in Culver City, police said this week.

Police responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon near the intersection of Sepulveda and Venice boulevards Friday at around 9:17 p.m. There they found a woman "bleeding profusely from a head injury," the Culver City Police Department said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect had been in the area carrying a long metal pole when she approached the victim and asked if she had any money. When the victim declined, the suspect attacked the woman, striking her repeatedly in the head with the pole, police said.

The victim's attempts to run away included running into the street. Witnesses shouted at the suspect to stop the attack; she fled on foot south of Sepulveda Boulevard, police said.

Police used K9 units to canvas the area and apprehended Tiarea Janae Davis, 27, of Culver City, police said.

The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration, police said.
