Woman Attacked From Behind While Walking in Culver City
A woman was attacked from behind while walking in a busy Culver City neighborhood by a man she did not know, police said.
CULVER CITY, CA — A man was arrested this week on suspicion of attacking a woman and leaving her with a head injury in Culver City, according to police.
Officers were dispatched at around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to the 4100 block of Madison Avenue, just south of Duquesne Avenue, in response to a report of a woman screaming for help and bleeding from the back of her head, the Culver City Police Department said Thursday.
Police found the woman sitting on the ground, visibly injured and holding the back of her head. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The woman told officers that she was followed by a man she didn't know while walking in the neighborhood, police said.
The man attacked her from behind, grabbing her by the head and pulling her to the ground. He repeatedly punched her in what police said was an unprovoked assault.

Officers canvassed the area and soon located a man matching the suspect's description near the 4100 block of La Salle Avenue. He was arrested on suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury.
His name has not been released.
