2 Escape Injury When Alamo Home Catches Fire
BREAKING: Fire officials said a neighbor saw smoke and flames and alerted the home's occupants.

ALAMO, CA — Two people escaped injury when their home caught fire in Alamo this morning, according to a deputy fire chief. San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District crews responded to a one-alarm fire in the first block of North Jackson Way around 5:30 a.m. after a neighbor saw smoke and flames, then alerted the home's occupants.
Once on scene, firefighters contained the fire to the attic area above the garage. There was some extension into the attic over the living space, but the living space itself only sustained smoke and water damage,
according to Deputy Chief Lon Phares. It took roughly 30 minutes to put the fire out.
The residents will likely be displaced for a while, Phares said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
