Missing 9-Year-Old Found, Reunited With Family: Danville Police

The child was missing for over 12 hours but has been found, police said.

DANVILLE, CA — A 9-year-old boy who went missing Saturday evening was found Sunday morning, according to police.

The child had been last seen around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near Camino Tassajara, police said.

"There are multiple agencies, including Search and Rescue actively looking for him," the Danville Police Department said in a social media post Sunday morning.

A Blackhawk Drive resident saw the boy and called the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, police said in an update around 9 a.m., adding the child had been reunited with his family.

"Thank you to all of the Search and Rescue teams/members who responded as well as the community and residents for your interest and in getting the word out," police said in the update.
