Anthony Arnerich, Son Of Mayor And Community Volunteer, Dies At 41

Anthony Newell Arnerich is remembered for his "quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and deep commitment to helping others."

DANVILLE, CA — Anthony Arnerich, son of newly sworn in Mayor Newell Arnerich, died Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the age of 41, the town announced.

Anthony grew up in Danville, where he participated in Rotary Club projects like installing the gazebo at Hap Magee Ranch Park, and installing benches and tables at Bret Harte Park, according to a town statement. He attended Greenbrook Elementary School, Charlotte Wood Middle School, and graduated from San Ramon Valley High School in 2003. After graduating, he studied computer engineering at San Jose State University.

Anthony served as a U.S. Marine in Iraq and Kuwait, and then worked in information technology for major public facilities in the Bay Area.

"He will be remembered for his quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and his deep commitment to serving others. We invite our community to keep the Arnerich family in your thoughts and to share messages of support for them below," the town said in a statement posted Tuesday night.

In lieu of flowers, the Arnerich family has suggested donations to the Discovery Counseling Center, Sentinels of Freedom, and The Marfan Foundation.
