Bound For Books Benches To Be Auctioned Off Starting Thursday
This is the last week of Danville's Bound for Books benches, but fear not: you could own one.
DANVILLE, CA — Add to both your book and furniture collection by bidding on one of Danville’s ten Bound for Books benches, a public art project that has decorated downtown Danville since June. The book-shaped benches depict scenes from children’s tales, classic novels, and a cookbook.
The town will send the benches off in style with a closing reception and auction at the Village Theatre and Art Gallery patio, which will take place Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Bidding will start at $500 per bench, and all proceeds will benefit future public art projects in Danville.
The benches will be on display until Oct. 2, and an online auction will be available from Sept. 29-Oct. 2.
