49 People Escape Bus Inferno On Bay Area Freeway
A bus traveling on northbound I-680 caught fire Saturday night, but everyone got out in time.

DANVILLE, CA — A bus caught fire traveling on northbound I-680 near Diablo Road Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire broke out before 8 p.m. Sunday, according to a CHP tweet. The bus's driver and 48 passengers were able to safely exit the bus before it became fully engulfed.

All lanes of northbound I-680 south of Diablo Road were blocked due to the fire for several hours, according to a subsequent CHP tweet.
Patch is awaiting further information from the California Highway Patrol and the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.
