Kids will learn important biking skills and complete an obstacle course on the blacktop of Charlotte Wood Middle School.

DANVILLE, CA — Local families are invited to participate in the 2024 Street Smarts Community Bike Rodeo on Saturday, sponsored by Street Smarts San Ramon Valley.

Children 5-12 and their families will learn lifelong bicycle skills through several different activities at the blacktop of Charlotte Wood Middle School:

  • Air and maintenance station: Local bike technicians will provide tips.
  • Bicycle Helmet Fitting Station: Hands-on helmet fittings by parents, who will receive instructions from experts.
  • Bicycle Safety Skills Course: Real-world skills needed to maneuver bicycles on roadways and trails.
  • Course/activity completion prizes at check-out for students 12 and under.

Families must book a 50-minute time slot from 10-2 here, though some slots may be available Saturday on a first come, first served basis. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early, and bring a bike, helmet, and scooter. No e-bikes, e-scooters, or skateboards are permitted. Participants should also fill out the registration form and sign the participant waiver.
