Danville Armed Prowler Video Footage Released

Police have released surveillance footage of an armed suspect seen in a Danville backyard last week who remains on the loose.

DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Police Department released footage of a man, likely armed, who entered a Danville residence in the early hours of Friday morning, then escaped.

At 2:36 a.m. Friday, police received reports that a man was seen in the backyard of a residence on the 600 block of Park Hill Road, near Morninghome Road. He was described as a Middle Eastern male wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants. Witnesses told police he appeared to be 40 to 50 years old, with short, curly hair and a clean-shaven face.

Witnesses told police he appeared disoriented, and was running as if fleeing someone. One witness said he had what appeared to be a handgun, and asked them to contact the police.

Despite an extensive search involving K9 units, door-to-door knocking, and an Unmanned Aerial System, the suspect remains at-large as of Wednesday.

To help identify the suspect, the Danville Police Department released video footage on their social media channels Wednesday. The video shows a man running back and forth in the backyard near a shed, then grabbing what appears to be a ladder. In the second half of the video, the man runs underneath a breezeway, then crouches down for several seconds, breathing heavily. He then gets up, appears to aim a handgun into the air, and then runs off.
