Danville Bakery Cupcakes Named Best In California

DANVILLE, CA — A Danville bakery has been recognized for having the best cupcakes in all of California.

Eat This, Not That worked with Yelp to find the best cupcakes in the country. They found businesses with the most reviews using the word "cupcake." Then they ranked those by looking at the number of total ratings and reviews.

Topping their list for California is Old Towne Danville Bakery and Cafe, which has served cookies, cupcakes, wedding cakes and more to the Tri-Valley area since 1952.

Danville Social posted the announcement on Instagram Monday congratulating the bakery.

Many commented on the post agreeing with all of the deliciousness the bakery has to offer, especially praising owner Karen Cordeiro for offering the best.

One person said: "Karen, you deserve this! Love everything made in this bakery!", while another exclaimed, "I love that bakery!"

Cordeiro told Patch it's been a "crazy cupcake whirlwind!"

"We loved Cats Cupcakery and are honored to carry the torch she carried before us. So my heartfelt thank you from all of us here at the sho," she said.

A Danville family opened the shop in 1952, according to its website. Along with the popular cupcakes, the bakery offers other desserts, cakes, savory items and bars. The bakery also specializes in wedding cakes.
