Danville Café Named One Of Bay Area's Best New Coffeeshops
The Mercury News highlighted Corner of Brazil, which offers imported dark roast coffees, açaí bowls, crepes, pastries, and much more.
DANVILLE, CA — The next time you’re looking for good coffee in Danville, try heading to Brazil.
It isn’t literally Brazil, but a Brazilian coffee shop and bakery at 370 Hartz Avenue called Corner of Brazil was just named one of The Mercury News’ “9 best new Bay Area coffee and tea houses.”
“One imagines downtown Danville’s Corner of Brazil is like visiting a typical neighborhood café in Sao Paulo,” the paper said of the café, which opened in October 2021. The café is decorated in bright, tropical colors, and paper parrots even dangle from the ceiling.

Brazilian owner Nickolas Guido brought much more than coffee and parrots with him: the café offers a variety of açaí bowls; sweet crêpes and savory pastries; sliders like pulled pork and pão de queijo (tapioca flour) with cheese; Brazilian candies; smoothies; ice cream; homemade cookies; and of course, an imaginative coffee menu offering imported dark roast coffee and delights like the Butterfinger Latte (espresso and and steamed milk poured over a Butterfinger), and an Ice Cream Latte (the same thing, over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.)
The café is open 11-7 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; Friday from 11-8, Saturday from 10-8, and Sunday from 10-7. Orders can also be made online.

Danville seems to excel in international bakeries and cafés, at least according to The Mercury News. In January, the paper named the East Bay Bakery, a bakery with Indonesian and other Asian influences, as one of the region's 10 best new bakeries.
