Danville Eatery Makes Bay Area Best Sandwich List

A new list of the best sandwich restaurants in the Bay Area includes a venerable Danville deli and cafe.

DANVILLE, CA — A properly made sandwich is anything but humble. From piled-high pastrami to ooey-gooey grilled cheese — nothing is quite as satisfying for a filling lunch. You've probably perfected your own favorites in your kitchen, but if you are looking to try a sub shop, cafe or deli, the Bay Area News Group put out a list recently of 16 restaurants to try around the Bay Area.

Several East Bay eateries made the list, including Domenico’s Delicatessen and Cafe in Danville.

“This upscale family-owned neighborhood deli is known for top-notch meats and housemade spreads, including flavored mayos, and fresh pasta salads (seven on our visit),” the paper gushed. “They also do a helluva vegetarian sandwich — five specialties — loaded with grilled, marinated or roasted veggies and various cheeses.”
