Danville Jewelry Store Robbed By Men With Sledgehammers: Police

The Home Consignment Center in Danville was robbed Wednesday for at least the fourth time when five men smashed display cases.

DANVILLE, CA —Five men broke into the Home Consignment Center in Danville armed with sledgehammers, then smashed display cases and fled with jewelry, according to the Danville Police Department. The same store has been robbed at least three other times within the past year.

On Wednesday at 3:05 p.m., Danville police responded to reports of a strong-armed robbery at the Home Consignment Center on 1301 Camino Ramon. Witnesses told police that they saw several men enter the store armed with sledgehammers, then smashed display cases before fleeing.

Officers secured the area and collected evidence. Danville police said the suspects were five Black men wearing face masks and dark clothing.

Nearly identical incidents occurred at the store in February and December, though police said there is no evidence to link these crimes together. In December, the robbery took place at 11:42 p.m.

Police continue to actively investigate. Anyone with information is urged to call Sgt. Dan Lynch at dlynch@danville.ca.gov, or call 925-314-3703.
