Danville Officially Designated 'California Main Street' Community
Downtown Danville has received official recognition as a spot of historic and economic importance. The town is celebrating this Saturday.

DANVILLE, CA — Just in time for the holidays, Danville's downtown has been officially designated as a "California Main Street" affiliate community.
The California Main Street and Main Street America programs recognize communities whose downtowns show potential as a vibrant, unique, and economically important destination.
“The Main Street designations recognize not only the Town’s investment in our local businesses, but the dedication of our business owners to our community,” Danville Mayor Renee Morgan said in a statement. “Small Business Saturday is a wonderful invitation to visit our downtown, discover the creativity and care behind our local shops and services, and support the small businesses that strengthen our local economy.”

In honor of this new designation, the town in hosting live holiday music at Prospect Park Plaza in honor of Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29. Downtown shops and restaurants are offering specials on unique gifts, seasonal menus, and holiday treats. To help find the best deals and get to know the downtown's many businesses, residents can download the Discover Danville mobile app, which includes a free interactive walking tour highlighting local businesses, restaurants, and historical points of interest.
