Danville Police Jog For Awareness In 2025 Special Olympics Torch Run
Officers carried the "Flame of Hope" from Walnut Creek to Danville this week.

DANVILLE, CA — Danville police participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Northern California this week.
The Danville team gathered at the Walnut Creek Police Department on Wednesday morning and carried the Flame of Hope through Danville, where they passed it off to officers at the San Ramon Police Department.
"All in support of local Special Olympics athletes," the Danville Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

Every year, the Torch Run gathers thousands of law enforcement officers to raise awareness and money for children and adults with disabilities. The Special Olympics provides year-round training for Olympic-type sports for nearly 5 million people.
"A big thank you to our officers, support staff, and the community for cheering us on along the route! Let’s continue to light the way for inclusion and support our incredible athletes," the Danville Police Department said.
