DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Town Council is holding a mid-year budget review meeting Tuesday to review revenues and expenses in comparison to the adopted 2024/25 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan approved in June.

According to the town's financial report, total revenues of $42.1 million are tracking ahead of projections, mostly due to a strong property tax forecast of $17.9 million. Property tax accounts for 56.9% of general fund revenues. At the same time, sales tax revenue has declined steadily since the fourth quarter of 2022, and are expected to decline further. Still, the town believes that revenue is expected to meet the budget forecast.

Overall expenditures remain within the $39.76 million operating budget, which reflects a 5.7% increase from the previous fiscal year. Long-term concerns include increasing costs of public service, and a $1.1 million reduction in General Fund revenue expected in 2026-27 when a loan repayment is completed.
