BLACKHAWK, CA — Dog owners in the San Ramon Valley have a new petsitting option when they head off for holiday trips or a day at the office.
Dogtopia of Blackhawk recently opened at 3630 Blackhawk Plaza Cir. and offers dogs play and exercise options during the day, and longer-term boarding services.
Dogtopia, a franchise, has dozens of locations across the country. The Blackhawk location was opened by Joe Castorena, a dog daycare customer who decided to open his own after working at Silicon Valley tech companies, according to the statement.

"Dogtopia offers a fresh, new concept for pet owners who treat their dogs like true members of the family," Casterona said in the statement. "When I considered the industry-leading facility, safety, staff training, and the brand itself, opening a new Dogtopia was a no-brainer.”
Dogtopia places webcams in every room that customers can remotely check on their furry friends. Dogs are placed into playrooms with other dogs of similar temperament and size, according to the statement. Playrooms come equipped with joint-friendly, anti-slip rubber floors.
