Exhibition Showcases Art from Members of the Down Syndrome Connection

In conjunction with the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area, the Town of Danville presents its newest exhibition, 'Recycle-Abilities.'

From the Town of Danville: In conjunction with the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area, the Town of Danville presents its newest exhibition, Recycle-Abilities. This new show, running from May 18 to June 17, 2017, is an exhibit with an emphasis on the unique and creative abilities of members from the Down Syndrome Connection. The art included in the exhibition are works they created together in classes offered at the site in Danville. The works in this show are whimsical and imaginative, and viewers are sure to be delighted by the many talents and abilities of this group.

The Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area is located in Danville and has been operating here as a successful non-profit organization since 1998. The organization is dedicated to encouraging the unlimited potential in children and adults with Down syndrome; their mission is to empower, inspire and support people with Down syndrome, their families and the community that serves them, while fostering awareness and acceptance in all areas of life. The artwork of the members of the organization will be on display at the Village Theatre Art Gallery through June 17, 2017.

An Opening Reception for the Recycle-Abilities exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a free, family friendly event sure to engage people of all ages. Complimentary refreshments will be served at the opening reception.

The Village Theatre and Art Gallery is located at 233 Front Street in Danville. The Gallery is open to visitors Wednesday through Friday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday by appointment only. The Gallery is always open one hour before performances in the Theatre. The Art Gallery is closed on Sundays. The new exhibition endsJune 17, 2017.
