Since its founding in 1992, Tri-Valley Animal Rescue has worked to stop the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable animals, particularly for seniors or animals with health or behavioral challenges. TVAR does not have a shelter, a network of over 200 volunteers foster and care for dogs and cats before they are matched with the right family.

TVAR volunteers are a daily presence at the East County Animal Shelter in Dublin, where they help socialize animals, teach basic commands, and help visitors connect with their new furry friends. They also sponsor adoption and spay and neuter fees for select animals, and provide medical care when needed.
