Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade: Closures, Parking & More
With around 40,000 people expected to attend, here's what to know ahead of the big day.

DANVILLE, CA — Several streets will close in downtown Danville Thursday as more than 100 groups march in the Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade.
The parade will begin Thursday at 9 a.m. at the north end of Hartz Avenue near San Ramon Valley High School, and continue along Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard to Town and Country Drive.
The parade is estimated to take about two to three hours, and the following streets will be closed between 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

- Danville Boulevard between El Cerro Boulevard and Railroad Avenue 
- Railroad Avenue between Hartz Avenue and Love Lane 
- La Gonda Way between El Cerro Boulevard and Danville Boulevard 
- Prospect Avenue between Hartz Avenue and Front Street 
- East Linda Mesa Avenue between Hartz Avenue and the Rose Street Parking Lot 
- Hartz Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Hartz Way 
- San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Hartz Way and Town and Country Drive 
- Town and Country Drive between San Ramon Valley Boulevard and the Town and Country Parking Lot entrance 
Drivers can access Danville Boulevard from north of El Cerro Boulevard and San Ramon Valley Boulevard south of Sycamore Valley Road West.
Parking is available at the following lots:
- Clock Tower Parking Lot
- Danville Library/Community Center Parking Lot
- Front Street Municipal Parking Lot
- Railroad Avenue Municipal Parking Lot
- Rose Street Parking Lot
- Village Theatre Parking Lot
The lots are expected to fill, so parade goers are advised to consider alternative travel arrangements like walking or biking. Viewers can consider the Sycamore Park & Ride lot and use the Iron Horse Trail to walk downtown. Parking is also available at the Crossroads Shopping Center, and a golf cart shuttle will be available to bring viewers to the parade.

Sidewalk seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis after 6 a.m.
