Last 'Hot Summer Night' of the Season
The last block party of the season starts at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Summer is coming to an end, but it wouldn’t be complete without the final Hot Summer Nights of the season this week in Danville.
Classic cars and hot rods will start rolling into place at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 15 with the event starting at 4 p.m.

Wild and fun events are in store as shown on the Hot Summer Nights website. Tank, the 100-pound tortoise will be hanging out in the shade and the Hot Summer Night crew will be celebrating the event’s 19th year as well as honoring the 60th year of the Chevrolet Corvette.
The street party is known to combines classic cars and camaraderie to celebrate the summer evening.

Muscle cars, hot rods, and vintage rides line the streets, while bands play music from the ‘50s and ‘60s.
There’s a wide selection of food, drink, and souvenir booths throughout the venue, or you could off in one of the downtown shops or restaurants.
The event runs 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and event goers might make it in the Town’s Facebook Hot Summer Night photo album.
Traffic notice from the Town for affected areas here:
Motorists should be advised that Hartz Ave. & E. Prospect Avenue will be closed to traffic on August 15, 2013 for the Hot Summer Nights Car Show.
From 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. the following streets will be affected:
-Hartz Avenue between Railroad Avenue and south to School Street;-Northbound Hartz Avenue from School Street to Hartz Way;
-Linda Mesa Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Rose Avenue;
-Diablo Road between Hartz Avenue and Rose Avenue;
-Diablo Road at Front Street, westbound and northbound directions;
-Local traffic access only between Front Street and Rose Avenue on Diablo --Road and Front Street north to Linda Mesa Avenue;
-Prospect Avenue between the Clock Tower Municipal Parking Lot entrance and Front Street; and
-Church Street 50 feet west and east of Hartz Avenue.
A large crowd is expected so there will be pedestrian traffic through the area. Motorists are asked to drive with caution.
