Mayor Arnerich's in the Kitchen

The Mayor’s Healthy Cook-off Challenge challenges mayors across Contra Costa County to compete cooking Iron Chef-style, producing a tasty meal in a timed event using low-sugar, healthy food. 

Mayor Newell Arnerich will work alongside Vice Mayor Robert Storer and chef Esin deCarion from Esin Restaurant in the event.

The chefs won’t know the ingredients until the competition kicks off.

As Chef deCarion as executive chef, Mayor Arnerich as second-chef and Vice Mayor Robert Storer as sous-chef. The event is held at the Todos Santos Plaza in downtown Concord.

Locally grown produce and will be provided by the Pacific Coast Farmers Market and the Mt. Diablo High garden.

A panel of judges will decide the winner based on taste and creativity at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
