Meet Danville's New Patch Editor!

DANVILLE, CA — Hi, Danville! I'm Sara, your new Patch editor!

Courtney Teague held this position for the last two years and is missed by Patch. She moved on to be the newsletter editor of the Honolulu Civil Beat, reporting on Hawaii politics.

Michael Wittner has been covering this position while Patch looked to hire. Now, here I am! A huge thanks to Michael for helping me learn and supporting me in my new role; in fact, everyone at Patch is incredibly welcoming and supportive.

I am so excited to be back working full-time in journalism. My background is in broadcast news and I got into the industry with the desire to share stories in my community and be a voice for people. I took a break after feeling quite burnt out with bad news and what I personally felt was sensationalism. Writing has always been a passion for me and I have been searching for the right outlet. I am happy to say I found that in Patch- sharing hyperlocal news and what matters most to people.

There's a very brief professional summary for you. A little about my personal life: I am from Indiana and grew up on a beautiful property with an even more beautiful family. (I miss them all the time!) Luckily, however, I have a fantastic family here in the Bay Area where I moved with my now husband a little over two years ago. I don't think I will ever get used to the cost of living here, but all of the wonderful beauty we are surrounded by helps with that. My heart and mind need wide open spaces so please send me your favorite spots to get some quiet time in nature!

I love anything involving the outdoors, music and animals (and food.) I previously ran a local pet grooming salon, daycare/hotel so feel free to send me pet stories ANY DAY. Of course, I would also love to hear from you regarding the happenings in your community and what matters to you!
