Monte Vista Robotics Team Running Kids Summer Camp

Camp Knots and Bolts will teach students entering grades 3-5 the basics of robotics and coding.

DANVILLE, CA — Monte Vista High School's Red Tie Robotics Team 1458, which recently won the Rising All-Star Award at the Pinnacles Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, is hosting its first ever summer camp.

Camp Knots and Bolts, hosted by Team 1458 and the Red Tie Robotics Foundation, will host a robotics camp for students entering grades 3-5 from June 9-13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each morning. It will be led by student members of Red Tie Robotics and their mentors.

The camp is dedicated to building, coding, and problem-solving. Campers will learn a number of exciting tasks, including:

  • Building real robots using VEX GO kits
  • Learning beginner coding and engineering concepts
  • Completing creative challenges and obstacle courses
  • Working together in teams to prepare for a final competition
  • Playing collaborative teamwork games
