Monte Vista Student Physically Assaults Teacher: SRVUSD, DPD
A student was taken into custody after assaulting a teacher in the classroom, police and school officials said.
DANVILLE, CA — A Monte Vista High School student attacked a teacher Monday, causing the teacher to be sent to the hospital, according to the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the Danville Police Department.
During lunch Monday, the student attacked the teacher in a classroom, according to a police statement and an email sent to district families by Superintendent CJ Cammack. Danville police and the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded immediately, and the teacher was transported to a nearby hospital for care. The district is not releasing the teacher's name. Their current status was not detailed.
The student responsible was identified, removed from campus, and booked into Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall.

"We are cooperating with Danville Police in their investigation, and we will ensure appropriate consequences will be administered to the student in accordance with our policies and provisions of the Education Code," Cammack said. "The safety of our students and our staff is a top priority and any unsafe or dangerous conduct will not be tolerated at Monte Vista or at any school in SRVUSD."
