North America Nebula From Danville: Photo Of The Day
Danville resident Bob Schiff captured this stunning nebula located 1800 light years from Earth.
DANVILLE, CA — Patch's resident astrophotographer Bob Schiff captured this photo of the North America Nebula, an emission nebula about 1,800 light years from Earth whose shape resembles the North American continent. It's slightly bigger, though - crossing it would take 100 light years, or one thousandth the size of the entire Milky Way galaxy.
