Numerous Danville Businesses Closed Following Two-Alarm Fire

Fire officials confirmed which businesses were damaged in the Monday night blaze.

DANVILLE, CA — A two-alarm fire caused heavy damage to several businesses in downtown Danville late Monday night, according to the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

The fire broke out at around 9:50 p.m. in the area around 145 East Prospect Avenue, between Hartz Avenue and Front Street, in a strip mall-style commercial building that includes Moda Mi, Taru Japanese Cuisine, Lashify Studio Danville, and South Austin Lane gift shop, among other businesses.

The eyelash studio and hair salon were most damaged by flames and smoke, according to reporting from DanvilleSanRamon. Other units sustained additional smoke and firefighting-related damage, and the building's roof and patio overhang were charred. No injuries were reported, SRVFPD battalion chief Joe Bradley told DanvilleSanRamon.

The entire structure was closed Tuesday, with no confirmed reopening timeline.

Witnesses working at Lottie's Creamery crossed the street told Patch that they saw fire and smoke coming from Moda Mi and Taru. Fire crews arrived quickly, and Pulsepoint listed the fire closed at 2:26 a.m. Tuesday. Nineteen engines responded to the incident, according to the app.
