Danville Costco Robbery: Shots Fired, Say Police

Three suspects are outstanding, according to police.

DANVILLE, CA — Costco in Danville closed following an armed robbery Friday afternoon, police officials said. Police confirm shots were fired during a robbery of the store. At about noon, police received a report that two men dressed in hoodies and wearing masks had entered the Costco store on Fostoria Way near Interstate Highway 680.

One of the men smashed a glass case and removed the items inside, according Danville police spokesman Geoff Gillette. When a store employee tried to stop him, the second suspect fired a gun, Geoff said. The two men then fled in a waiting silver Toyota Camry with paper license plates, Geoff said. Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins says no one was hit or injured during the shooting, but one person, who fell while trying to move out of the path of the suspects, was treated for shock.

The first suspect is described as slender and was wearing a black hoodie, gray pants, gloves and a mask. The second masked suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and gloves.
