SRVUSD To Host National Mental Health Summit
Educators from around the country will tour several SRVUSD schools to learn and discuss social-emotional best practices.
DANVILLE, CA — The San Ramon Valley Unified School District is hosting the School Superintendents Association’s Mental Health and Social and Emotional Learning Summit starting Wednesday.
Superintendents and educational leaders from across the country will spend three days studying strategies to improve the emotional wellbeing of students. On Thursday, attendees will visit several SRVUSD Sites to learn more about its mental health systems and protocol. Visits will include Bollinger Canyon Elementary School, Charlotte Wood Middle School, Monte Vista High School, Vista Grande Elementary School, Stone Valley Middle School, San Ramon Valley High School, Quail Run Elementary School, Iron Horse Middle School, Dougherty Valley High School, and California High School.
SRVUSD is one of 15 school districts nationwide named to participate in the District Comprehensive Approach pilot, a program administered by the School Superintendents Association and The Jed Foundation guiding districts in improving the emotional wellbeing of K-12 students.

“In order to ensure positive mental health for our students, staff, families, and caregivers, superintendent and district leaders need to engage widely, something this summit provides,” SRVUSD Superintendent John Malloy said in a statement. “Meeting this commitment has never been more important, which is why we're encouraged to bring in district leaders from across the country in this critical area. We are honored to host the AASA Mental Health and SEL Summit to share key strategies in order to carry out the necessary work to develop thoughtful and effective solutions.”
